Helps Fight Acne: Baking soda has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that make it reduce and treat acne. All you have to do is mix a spoon of baking soda with little water and make a paste. Apply on affected area 2-3 times a week. With time, reduce to just once or twice a week.
Brightens Yellow Teeth: Some poor dental habits could lead to the yellowing of teeth. Thankfully, baking soda can be used to brighten it. It works just like an abrasive to clean out the discolouring. All you have to do is add some of it along with your toothpaste while brushing. Doing this every day for some time will do the trick. You should however not overdo it to avoid striping your teeth of the protective enamel.
Removes Dandruff: Dandruff happens to be one of those tough hair conditions to manage. Baking soda also makes this easier to treat. All you have to do is mix freshly squeezed lemon juice into a spoonful of baking soda into your wet hair and scalp. Wait for 2-3 minutes and rinse off. You can repeat this once a week.
Treats Smelly and Oily Hair: There a few odours more offensive than smelly hair. Thankfully, baking soda can also be used in getting rid of smelly and oily hair. To do this, you can either add a spoon of baking soda to your regular shampoo and wash your hair once a week or mix one part of baking soda into three parts of water. Apply to your wet scalp leave for 5 minutes and wash out. Do this once or twice a month.
Treats Body Odour: This is quite an embarrassing problem. Baking soda can help a great deal with this. All you have to do is mix equal amounts of baking soda and cornstarch properly. Apply this powder mix to your dry underarms to prevent sweating and well as bad odor.
Treats Stained or Yellow Nails: This is an unpleasant sight that needs to be treated. Mix half cup of water, 1 teaspoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and one tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl and stir till baking soda dissolves. Dip your nails into the solution for 2 to 3 minutes. You can do this once in two weeks.
