Why We are Crushing on Betty Irabor this Wednesday

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Konga had a viral social media competition themed #KongaNaijaWoman where participants were to nominate a woman who inspired them to be their Konga Naija Woman.

The winners of this competition and their nominees were selected and treated to Lunch with Mrs Betty Irabor, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Genevieve Magazine. It was definitely an awesome time with Mrs Irabor as she opened up her heart and shared the joys, pains, challenges, discrimination and much more on her journey to becoming the super woman that she is.

Being abandoned by her father at the age of 10 did not deter her from having a dream and going all out to achieve it. She further revealed that the dream for Genevieve magazine came when she was 45 years old; isn’t that amazing!

Mrs Irabor advised the attendees never to let anything- the society, gender, naysayers, age or any circumstance discourage them from achieving their dreams. With all these words of wisdom from an iconic woman who has surmounted challenges and has found her way to make difference in the lives of women in Nigeria and beyond, Betty Irabor is certainly our woman crush this week!
